I reckon it'd be easier to get chrome off than to put chrome on...

Any reason not to buff that brass up to a beautiful shine? I didnt really think about that, but it sounds like a good option. Not sure how I would get the rest of the chrome off, I guess Im going to have to do some research about it. I vetod my spray paint idea because one of the drawer pull I sprayed already has a scratch on it. And re-chroming is out because of budget. Probably a good call on the spray paint. I used it on the stationary piece which Worked fine, not on something that's handled. Buffing the brass is an interesting idea. Something new.

Yeah I think Ill try it and see how it looks, but ill always be watching craigslist for a original replacement. I just love the look of that particular hand pump, the shape is so interesting to me.
