Can someone tell me what this is missing. Besides the obvious piece of broken piece of glass lol Just not seeing how wires would hook up to this.

Thank you Ten for the links to all the parts. The clear circle lens is pretty expensive for a little piece of glass, how much of a terrible idea would it be to use clear plastic tubing?

Ten thanks for helping me with this. Do you think the black rubber piece in your photo is the same as the black piece in the pigtail link?

It looks like the pigtail piece is an insulator, which would isolate the electrified wire from the housing and prevent it from shorting out. The grommet in the photos above is used to guide the wire through the skin, so that the skin does not strip through the wire insulation. That grommet was firmly planted in the aluminum skin when I removed the light fixture, and had to be persuaded out. It should not be so critical that you cannot use a common replacement which is close in size from a hardware store.

I bought a new socket for mine at Advanced Auto. I tried a couple of sockets, and ending up buying a tag light that mounts over a license plate and just took the socket out of it. It seemed to be the best fit out of the ones I bought.

I got lucky today at the local family owned auto store in my neighborhood, the guy I had asked for help happened to be a vintage car guy, so he looked at my licenses plate light and went and got this for me. I did not get so lucky at the local glass company....still on the search only $2

You did get lucky. I went to two automotive stores and they looked at me like I was crazy when I took my tag light in. I had link for the glass... I think Ten sent it to me when I broke mine. I ended up just turning the broke part to the top.

I ended up just turning the broke part to the top. The guy was awesome, I had heard of that auto store having a really good reputation and I liked that it is family owned and not a chain. I will be going there for all my auto store needs from now on. Yes, I dont want to spend the $30 for the new piece, so I am looking for some alternative options, Im thinking cylinder bud vase cut to size, or this tubing from amazon. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000OMFMC0?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=ox_sc_act_title_1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DERI thought about turning mine so the broken piece wasn't showing too, just wasn't sure if water would get in and ruin something with it like that. You have had no problems with it like that?

Go with an LED light in the fitting and you will never have to replace it. I have put LED lights in everything outside,
