If yours is the Henry County one, it is a good looking camper!

Welcome back from a couple other former VSTF members! Congrats on your growing family! The most we've ever had in Hamlet was the two of us, our 4 year old granddaughter and two medium sized, long haired dogs. On the beach. In the Pacific NW. In the rain. We had a blast, but we had to keep the oven on low and the gas lamp on to keep it mostly dry. Our three guard chickens stayed home, too. It's kinda funny, the dogs never messed with them, nor do the neighborhood cats, and even the raccoons seem to keep their distance. THey must have seen the prehistoric claws on those cute little girls and decided it was best to keep their distance.
And, shoot, that is a great little camper, I honestly don't know where people's brains are. Maybe you should strip all the neat stuff out, then sell it as "All the hard work has been done, it just needs your touch to make it your own special place." Then add a coupe pictures of the insides and outsides of other glamped up Compacts. That ought to do it.
Sigh.

Remember you (and your owners) Having read some of the expectations of some members on here is really makes me second guess my work on this trailer. At the same time I see "all original" unit selling for high dollar and all they have is paint (in and out), and have been "glamped". Vikx has made some good suggestions for me to spruce it up even more, dumb down the photos etc. 10k is probably high but I expected people to make offers. Hasn't been the case. One if our dogs is a chicken killer. He was given up by his previous owners for killing chickens. He REALLY wants to get at ours. Our county just permitted them a couple years ago with restrictions. More than 1/2 acre of land. Backyard. Not free range. No roosters. 4 hens max. We have our 3 in a big walk in enclosure with a coop inside scaled to the Compact complete with vintage trailer side windows for ventilation. (From a friends destroyed Apalache (sp?))

Don't second guess what you have done just because it hasn't sold yet. You have had several wonderful years of camping, and have done the work necessary for someone else to have several more. There are still a lot of women out there who are looking for their "girl cave" and don't care what's under the skin as long as it looks good (pretty shallow), but they aren't looking long term. What we fear is that in about ten years a lot of the small ones, the fen footers, are going to come back on the market, but in even worse shape than when they were purchased in their glamped out state. Ha! Maybe by that time we'll be in a position to restore another Compact!

Ha! Maybe by that time we'll be in a position to restore another Compact! I've had the exact same convo with Jessica about future campers. I shudder at some of the glamped ones that have all the originality gone. We purposely did ours to keep most of the original charm with a few updates (assuming in the future we might have to sell it). This a Apache we have now is NOT original. It's kind of a bummer. I could luck out and find a decent parts trailer to take it back more original. It's a little freeing though to have it already be altered and not be worried about it being me making it less original. The Shasta was my first camper and first rebuild. I have done a number of projects since then. I own more tools and skills & methods have improved. There are things I would have done differently to the Shasta. You are right though. We were averaging 9 trips a year. Usually one week long trip and a bunch of weekend trips. We have 6500 miles towing this trailer all around the southeast.
