Can anyone recommend a good source for j rail (drip rail) molding? I'm sure this has been addressed here before. Despite spending a lot of time searching the forum using various word and phrase combinations, I can't find an answer.
thanks

Most RV shops carry it or can order it. We straighten ours and put a mill like finish on it. Better than new...

One thing to consider is shipping costs. The rails can cost more for freight than for the material itself because of the size. If you have a local dealer readily available, sometimes it can be more cost effective to purchase locally than to try saving a buck buying and shipping. Also, forming the new rails to fit your contour is another ball of bees. I would suggest reading through some of the threads that concern polishing of aluminum. Refurbishing the old from your unit can be easier than it might seem. Aluminum is very forgiving and pliable, and damaged spots are not that hard to fix. Paint removal can seem never-ending, and polishing is tedious and time-consuming, but the results can be quite rewarding. This applies only of course if you have something decent to start from.

The J-rail on my trailer has never been painted but it is definitely damaged in a number of spots. How does one "fix" this? Thank you!

Straighten and tinker with it. Rounded punches, shaped wood, 2" jawed sheet metal pliers help. When it's good, sand with 220, then lesser grits of steel wool. Turns outs out really well. Just takes elbow grease...

I'm doing some work for a friend on a 1962 Aloha. Portions of the j-rail are in just too bad shape to reuse. We're talking tears, cracks, and gashes, not just straightening and cleaning.
I'll check out Hemet Valley RV.
