That's an excellent price. I'm considering them for the skin on the camper I'll start next summer. Around $1300 for an entire camper is hard to beat. Naturally, I'd like somebody else to be the first to order from them.

They build reproduction trailers and this seems a side business. As I said in the other thread, a new trailer boom may be upon us as people search for something more authentic (without all the work to rebuild it themselves)

I like the other products too. Our vendors list is growing. Good thing? Perhaps a little competition will help keep the prices down a bit.

I think a little competition is good. Our suppliers are getting a little complacent.
If the company making that knock-off offered amber woodwork they would really have a following.

The entrepreneurial "restorer" would then become the entrepreneurial "manufacturer". Think of the time saved in not having to do the tear down… LOL.

chametzoo, my son said the whole time I rebuilding my Shasta that I could have built a new one from scratch faster. I definitely think it would be easier. danrhodes, thanks for this link! I added it to our link section. Great resource!

I added it to our link section. Great resource! Yep. It surely would be easier. But then you have a brand new trailer. It would only be "vintage style"... You can buy lots of retro stuff brand new. Radios, trailers, prints, copies.... the list goes on. Cars, houses, you name it. But our vintage trailers are living, usable antiques. They are the real thing. They lived to tell many stories. Not a copy, or a reprint. But the real thing. And in my book that's what I like. I explore old mining camps. Now you could just go to Calico Ghost Town and see it all completely rebuilt to look like the real thing. But it's not real. It's a copy of what a ghost town looks like. I don't visit Calico for that reason. Just not the same.

I am new to camping as of 2 years ago. We started with a teardrop, camper from kompact camp trailers in PA. I like the TD for the ease of towing and set up, but my husband was not as happy with it. My youngest son has gutted and refurbished an older camper 1968 I believe. He actually found ch campers and I contacted him. I was impressed with the way they were made and that I could order it how I wanted it. My husband said go for it so I did. I was hoping he would enjoy camping more if it was a 'standy' unfortunately he succumbed to cancer the day after my son got it home from Georgia for us. But he did manage to get to the deck to see it and complemented on the great deal we got. Now I hope to enjoy it has a solo camper and I have named it after him. I hope that has answered your questions ?

I'm sorry for your loss and I think the naming of the camper after your husband is pretty neat. I was just wondering what drew you to our little asylum. Normally we get people who are ready to dive head first into a vintage trailer restore. But once in a while we see someone like you who purchased a brand new retro. The last one that came in here was a nice couple who bought one of the Shasta retros. Haven't heard much from them lately.
Well happy camping and thanks for dropping in. We're all here to help if you need us. Hopefully you won't.
