It is very cool. I really like the front...and the deer on the door.

I saw that when it was on eBay a few months ago.
That, my friend, is the definition of "hot mess."

Yes it is a hot mess...but one very cool hot mess! Just curious if you remember the asking price or if it got any bids while on ebay? I am glad the asking price is $1000 and it is 2.5 hours away or I might do something stupid. I do like looking at it and thinking of what it could become. Personally, I think I would turn it into a travel trailer but leave the exterior as a house car. Everyone I have shown it to thinks it is uglier than sin. Me...I see nothing but beauty! lol. Maybe I should see a shrink!

Looks homemade… Is there an engine in it?

If I remember correctly I was passing through Roswell New Mexico in the thirties before we knew about the aliens landing there, and I saw a convoy of cars and campers, with one car broken down along the side of the road, with a couple of funny looking skinny men standing around it shaking their heads, which were quite large, anyway, it looked like they had come a long way and did not have any spare parts for the car, so they stripped most of the good stuff off it, moved along and just abandoned the car. I only got one photo of the lead car and camper in that convoy... s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/d7/1f/1d/d71f1d3bf450e8a08f9ad93b668d3856.jpg

Great recall agent99...most of these types of house cars have a name after the person that designed and built it...I could recall something about mountain motors and this car, but you got the info a lot faster than I did. Here is a Hunt house car story with a video that is also enjoyable. Kind of reminds me a little of the predecessor of the Blastolene Decoliner. Scroll to the bottom of the Randy Grubb thread and check out his other builds. An amazing aluminum fabricator and designer! www.doityourselfrv.com/1937-hunt-house-car/www.randygrubb.com/the-decoliner/

Thanks for sharing that! The bathroom is absolutely amazing with the fold away toilet! Wowza! I will definitely be checking out his other rebuilds tonight.

Agent, The one thing I remember from looking at the pictures is thinking that I couldn't figure out what the designer had in mind -- I don't see how you could fit a power train under the floor boards the way they sit. In related news, the seller, it seems, has gotten into the same stuff that Bruce has been into. He's asking $2,500 for this (link) which he CLAIMS is 1940 Chevy Convertible, but in reality is little more than a VIN and a tetanus shot. B

All it really needs is a weekend, a six pack, and some elbow grease and it'll be road ready!
