I'll second...I believe the later-60's and early 70's Compacts used the simple cam lock for the cargo doors. My 64 Airflyte also uses the cam style too.

Thank you ten and nccamper that looks correct actually, since there is a notch at the bottom of the frame for the baggage door for the lock of course. 5 bucks can't beat that!

My baggage compartments have all been the 7/8" cylinder. They have instructions on how to measure it, but I think you need the old one.

Excellent, thank you I am sure that's the right one if yours have had this one. It will be one less little thing to worry about.

The thing the Members are all agreeing on is the one nccamper provided a thread for. Note the beauty of that6 design is you can adjust the nut on the threaded cylinder body so that the lock face is flush with thw compartment surface. The one you illustrated would fit a compartment that had the specific thickness of the cylinder and thickness of the compartment door I think

Cool thanks for explaining that Vintagebruce yes that's nice you can adjust it. And the swing down latch or lock mechanism seems like it would go into the notch cut into the bottom of the metal door frame on mine.

Revisiting this thread friends. Have yet to order the cylinder I have been so busy, but ready to finally. Nccamper had mentioned the 7/8 measurement is the one he always needed. There are 3 measurements on VTS... How do I figure out which measurement it is? From the notch to the edge of the door frame? Because that was actually right at 5/8".Thanks friends as always.
