I think this may have been posted a long time ago. Amazing camper. Crazyland fun. Since we're on the subject of the atom, this is an poster I shared about a year ago that is worth reposting. As the copy says, a vintage camper can "offer you hope for atomic survival". Words of wisdom... If you haven't seen the movie, it's worth watching. The camper is the star.

It's not for kids. A little end-of-the-world and graphic for young viewers.
It will make you feel good owning something better than a fallout shelter.
At the end of the movie I wondered...what happened to that camper and will they sell it to me.

"Hope for atomic survival" ?? Because, perhaps, of the heavily-built, thick-walled, airtight nature of most old campers??

If I remember right it's a Kenskill. I forget the year but for some reason 1960 or 61 comes to mind. The Atomic Camper is cool. I always thought a flying saucer shaped house standing on three legs would be a cool house.

I want one of those sitting outside MY house! I don't know if I'd camp in it, but it'd look way cool next to our pre-war bungalow - straight out of 1930s and 40s sci-fi.
As for the movie, I saw it years ago, but I clearly remember the Cuban Missile Crisis and the bomb shelter boom. And we had duck and cover drills in school - like huddling under our desks was going to save us from a nuclear blast. Those were the days!

I bet it is streamlined enough to give you good gas mileage on the highway at 70 mph.
