Today I finally got a part that I have been looking for for two years. In my vintage trailer restoration journey, I have found that while the search is part of the fun... it can often be hard to find specific items, and it is tempting to compromise. So I just wanted to mention, in case everyone doesn't already know this, that you can create a specific search on ebay, where an email is sent to you every time your "item" shows up for sale. Two years of looking for a licence plate light that doesn't have to be re-chromed, and which had the red cover... and bingo, there it was this morning. Also, in case you haven't given it a look, "etsy" is also a good source for vintage dishes, and vintage camping accessories. Here is my find...

Nice looking part. Excellent condition. I would call that a score. I recently bought several parts in very nice condition from Trailertrasher. The reason we have so much trouble finding parts is because he has them all in his house.

The reason we have so much trouble finding parts is because he has them all in his house. I love roaming around that place. Always something new. Always go home with more than I came for. And Chris really knows his vintage trailer parts. It's hard to come up with something he hasn't seen.

I am going to contact Chris for a new window for my rear of my trailer. It currently has a sealed unit, but I would like one that opens. I am going to wait until I know approximates for space and see what he has in the size range, that way I can frame to match the window.
