Thanks the first time I saw a few years ago I said that will be mine. Been kind of a long process to actually get it into my hands. But glad it did. Will go through the forum and gather info and get a planned formed so when I get it home I can get it covered and start work. Living in Portland Or it's gonna be rainy and wet for the next few 6 months. I will be looking into renting a covered space to be able pull aluminum safely.

Cool! I like the Siesta, especially the very (crazy!) round ones from the 1950's but this looks like a great project. Congrats!

Found the vin buried under lots of plastic and debris to protect the tongue. Assuming the first two numbers are the year and the second 2 are the length it is '58 15 ft. Hoping I can get to the dmv and see what I need to do to make it legal.

We the school purchased their property in the 60s about 20 acres then through expansion purchased the adjoining lots 3 total sometime in the 80s. The house where this is sitting belong to family who built their house in the 40s and lived there since. The mother was still living there when the school purchased it with the agreement that she could live there till she passed. Well she is still alive now just living in a home for the last 3 years. So finally her power of attorney contacted us saying we can take full ownership since she won't be moving back. The father was a longshoreman and built the house and 6 outbuildings including the covered work area over the years. (House walls are 2x4s stacked on top of one another to form the walls no joke!) nobody recalls when the trailer showed up but it's sitting behind a 40or 50s Willys jeep that hasn't moved in a very very long time. I think the trailer showed up in the 80s(just a guess I can't see if it has a plate as the jeep is literally as close as it can get with lout damaging anything) for one of the sons friends to live in or something like that. All just pieced together from people's accounts that have been here for 30 plus years. My goal is to pull the trailer away from the jeep and get it along side it to use the cover to dismantle the trailer and restore it. Most everything is there minus interior all badges lights minus one side bubble light. Gonna be a long process but it's about 30ft from my shop and mechanics garage so it's the best place for it until I get her water tight. Some but amazingly not a lot of roofing tar was used on the roof and above a few Windows. Was hoping to find any of the old interior laying around but no luck there as of yet.

The interior will be very simple stick built cabinetry, usually one bys. Look for odd box shaped things, maybe some curvy accents, etc. There's no backs, just frames that attached to the walls. Dinettes are very simple:

Here's some pics of what I believe was a 59 I had a few years ago. It'll help with the cabinetry look. Then some more for fun..
This one had a fridge. This cabinet is shifted the Masonite on the wall would show where it sat. <a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd106/amctogo/59%20ISH%20SIESTA/DSCF1745.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCF1745.jpg"/></a> <a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd106/amctogo/59%20ISH%20SIESTA/DSCF1739_1.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCF1739_1.jpg"/></a> How'd you like to make a sandwich here: <a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd106/amctogo/59%20ISH%20SIESTA/DSCF1737_1.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCF1737_1.jpg"/></a> <a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd106/amctogo/59%20ISH%20SIESTA/DSCF1740.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCF1740.jpg"/></a> <a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd106/amctogo/59%20ISH%20SIESTA/DSCF1738.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCF1738.jpg"/></a> <a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd106/amctogo/59%20ISH%20SIESTA/DSCF1736.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCF1736.jpg"/></a> front upper cab<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd106/amctogo/59%20ISH%20SIESTA/DSCF1735.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCF1735.jpg"/></a> See the three screws that join the roof panel and the filler panel between the front window and side of trailer,well one of them was screwed right through the gas line for the lamp. Actually seamed to have sealed itself,but I bet it limited flow..Scary huh: <a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd106/amctogo/59%20ISH%20SIESTA/DSCF1728.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCF1728.jpg"/></a> <a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd106/amctogo/59%20ISH%20SIESTA/DSCF1725.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCF1725.jpg"/></a> <a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd106/amctogo/59%20ISH%20SIESTA/DSCF1726.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCF1726.jpg"/></a>

This one had a toilet room in the street side rear corner. As you can see in the above pics, cooking in bed was all the rage at the time.. The bed ran below the picture window on the curb side. <a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd106/amctogo/59%20ISH%20SIESTA/DSCF1742.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo DSCF1742.jpg"/></a>

Thanks for the great pics that will definitely help when the time comes to redo the inside. As of now not sure if I'm going to go full restore or just custom to our needs. I've been in the construction trade my whole life and a custom furniture builder repairman for a few years and think I can handle most of it. Currently we have a great outdoor kitchen setup for tent camping and will probably do most of our cooking outdoors. And as we have 3 year old twin boys and a 8 year old son we will need to maximize indoor sleeping for when they can't sleep outside. Will pick everyone's brain about how much structural cabinetry I'll need when I get there. First I plan on removing the skins and dealing with rot and rewording of everything and get the axle dropped so our mechanic and I can fix that and get it roadworthy. My school is kind enough to let me keep the trailer under the massive cover for that part as to get it out before spring is gonna be impossible right now. So over the next month I need to clear out 60 years worth of junk to make room under the covered area to rearrange the location of the trailer to start the work. Not sure where the best place to start a build thread on here is but when I get started I will document everything and start one.
