I just received a photo of my re-porcelain on my stove and sink from Jeff at Independence porcelain. I thought you might like to see what it looks like...

They were originally red,(slightly more orange-red) but they had oxidized and lost their shine in a lot of spots. This is the "fire engine red" they do at I.P. and he said it looks a bit more coke red in person than in the photos. Either way I like it, and now I can choose my floor tile, drapery fabric and cushions knowing which red I am working off. I am mixing red, aqua and coral throughout the trailer. Very atomic... One of my early memories is of sitting in the car with my parents listening to the announcer talk about apolo13, and of watching the moon landing on the b lack and white tv. So I love the atomic theme, as it represents a happy time for me.. The one thing I have learned with this project is that once you start spending money on rechrome, and reporcelain etc. There is no turning back. Come hell or high water I will be finishing this girl...

According to what ladywendolyn told me when I asked about this she put everything in a big box and shipped it USPS for $15. She had this work done by IPE and I sent mine there also. The person to contact there is Jeff Gaylord and here's their website and address information: www.ipe-porcelain.com/page2.htmlINDEPENDENCE PORCELAIN ENAMEL P.O. I don't have pictures of parts, I just sent them the burner grates from our stove because they get too hot for paint or powder coating. I'd take some but the stove is all wrapped up and in storage. I was happy with the outcome though, they looked just like new.

I was happy with the outcome though, they looked just like new. We had our burner grates reporcelained, too, but after seven years, they have multiple chips. Crummy, but considering how much we've used the stove, we really have no complaints.
