This 1976 Okanagan, aka The Okie, was our first trailer. Even though it isn't a cool canned ham, or even vintage by some people's definition, it holds a special place for us. I finally rolled her into the barn to work on this winter. I don't know if I have the picture posting figured out here but let's give it a try, but just in case here is a link my Shutterfly page with a few shots of it, carvelloafer.shutterfly.com/1976okanagan

I can't get your link to load, it tries, but our internet is a little bogged down tonight. If you want to post individual pics in this thread, copy the pic's link and paste it here. Welcome to our group and I look forward to seeing your pics when my internet cooperates.

Thanks!
I did copy the links for a couple of pics but it might be that it does't like Shutterfly. I'll fiddle with it tomorrow and see what I did wrong.

I'm not getting the link to work either. I use Photobucket. It's easy to open an account and friendly to most forum sites. Shutterfly doesn't work for me either.
Hang in there, we'll help all we can.

Okay, let me try this again. I've uploaded some pics of the Okie to Photobucket and the tutorial here on the forum is very clear. I'll start with just one pic. This is the Okie shortly after we first got it.

Hey, it works!! So like I said earlier, not a cool canned ham but nice old trailer to me, and I don't know if 1976 fits in with this forum (if not let me know). Nonetheless she is getting an overhaul rather than a junk yard. Last winter I built a shelter to be able to work on trailers, and other stuff, so I backed this trailer in before the snow starts to fly. I have to tidy up the space a bit to make room for windows and trims and such like so hopefully do that over the evenings this week so I can start to remove stuff this weekend. There is the typical gobs of goop smeared everywhere to clean up but that will happen on the bench with the skin off. (I wasn't the one that put all that silicone on there) Interior has the kitchen on the left side. I hope to get the original fridge working and back in there. I replaced the counters with what you see here, that was before I gained an appreciation for the vintage aspect of the original. I will likely replace these with something more close to what they were originally. Now keep in mind, I am a Loafer and this will take me all winter (or longer) so be patient.

Ooooo the Dreaded Sillycone!! Heck, it'll take you months to pick it off... LOL.
All trailers are welcome here, no matter the year. We can learn from a 2005 rot bucket just like we learn from the hams. Yours is very cute and a lot of people would love to have it.
Thanks for the great pictures.

Hey Doug,
That's a cutie. I love the image with the awning.
Does your Okanagan have a potty? I thought with the shorter window in the rear, the potty sits back there.
Cheers,
Rod

Wow, you have a great place to work on it. My '65 Shasta Compact has the silicone on every seam and rail, too. It's so thick on mine and so old that it actually peels off quite easily. Can't wait to see your progress.

Hey Rod, yes there is a toilet and shower in the back left corner.
I've got it up on blocks and most of the screws pulled. Then the Christmas season pulled me away but I'll be getting back to it shortly. Have to say I'm anxious to get the skin off and see how bad it is.

Like your pole barn and your next-gen styled Okie! They are both keepers. Plus you already have "Park Cred" with your Lil Loafer!

All trailers young and old are boxes on wheels with cabinets inside. No matter the shape, they are all pretty much the same but built with different kinds of materials. Just like houses there are big ones, little ones, in between ones, fat ones, skinny ones, expensive ones and cheap ones. Also just like houses, they all eventually leak. LOL... Love your pole barn. I want to put one on my property when and if I find it. For right now I'm doing the big metal carport thing.
Welcome to our little neck of the woods.

Wow, that is some rot. Looks like the side wall got it pretty bad too. Have fun!
