Hello all! I am excited to be here I know many have a wealth of knowledge a d I have learned much already. I don't think anyone has touched on this before, hope not. I recently got a 67 Shasta Compact and of course, jalousie windows. I am baffled though... is it possible to somehow get the windows watertight going down the road in the rain at maybe 60 mph? All I have seen available is the clear vinyl inserts to go in between the slats but they're designed more for being airtight than water. Any thought would be great. Would love to bring this to par but keep the old windows, but Mobile AL summers are not very dry. HAHA

Welcome! Vintage Trailer Supply sells a few seals for the Jalouise window. www.vintagetrailersupply.com/Window_Gasket_s/26.htmI have had a few drops come in but not much. The window should close tight enough to drive through the rain without a flood inside. So my guess is it's a gasket issue. I'm glad you're learning a lot from our old threads. Two other sources worth considering: Written- vikx wrote a terrific book with lots of photos. She is a member you can PM for details. Video- Another member has done some fantastic videos you'll find at cannedhamtrailers.com

Hi there, thanks for that advice yeah those I have seen and cheap enough to give a try. I appreciate it! It would be a shame to get rid of the original windows if I don't have to.
