Hi All,
I moved both of our Roof seam threads to keep the goopers at bay... There just seemed to be way too much interest in slathering slop on the roof.
As time goes on, they both will be moved back to our Repair section.
Sorry not to inform you sooner.

I hesitate to share an opinion at times because the only real answer is often to replace the roof. As you know, trying to remove 1/4 inch of tar and goop is all but hopeless.

I think the necessary evil thread is a really, really good thread. It may be temporary but it sure worked for me. Have you considered posting it minus comments and just locking it?

Yes, it's locked now. I'll look at it again and trim. Thanks for the idea...
Think I'll post a last THIS IS A TEMPORARY FIX comment.

Life is full of compromises, all we can do is offer the best advice for all conditions explaining the cause and effect of each. I realize that everyone can't pony up ten or fifteen grand to do it the right way. So we have to realize some will patch, so we need to offer the best advice we can to those folks, while advising that patches usually are not permanent repairs and that they may ruin all the hard work they have done.

We are all in this world temporarily. For some, temporary is long enough. For me, hope it holds until I get all new skins. Not sure my roof actually leaked. It may have all been from the vent but the temp fix has held well, so far and it looks good and is not gooped.

I run into odd roof situations all the time. With a *newer* trailer, you can spend a lot of money trying to build it right. I've had good roofs that the roof thread methods will help. Sometimes, it's only one PO dent at a roof seam that needs a little tape and Proflex. Sometimes, not. Pinholes come to mind...
