One of my new skin panels, which Isn't installed yet, has become warped. It may have happened when I had it partially affixed to the back of the trailer. It didn't quite fit at the time, so I just left it there, bowed. I guess that was the wrong thing to do. I've trimmed the pieces of side paneling which were preventing it from fitting in the first place and now it SHOULD fit, but no matter what I do, it wants to have a big bulge along one edge.
I took the whole piece off and laid it on the ground. That's when I realized the metal itself was warped. I laid some 2x4s on it, weighted with bricks to hold it flat and left it that way for a week, hoping that would fix it. But nope. When I took the bricks off today it sprang right back up into its warped position. Is there anything I can do to flatten it? Or do I need to order a new piece?

Metal doesn't warp unless subjected to high temperatures as in welding, It most likely is bent, very carefully try bending it the opposite direction a little at a time being careful not to over bend or kink it. Your aluminum will also stretch as it is bent causing it to deform. It is hard to say what has caused you problem without being there in person. As for the need to order new I would say only as a last resort if you have tried everything you can and can't make it work. The bulge along one edge may be from excessive stretching.

I'm thinking Bill is correct. Try the gentle bend method. Today's skins are easy to deform by stretching...
Tack it on the trailer again and see *where* it is not fitting or gapping. You might be able to add framing and then install a tasteful screw or more to get it to behave.
Do you have photos to share?

Sorry but I'm having a really tough time understanding anything that you wrote here. How about some photos and which panel are you talking about? What didn't fit about it? How does side paneling prevent a new piece of skin from fitting? You need to explain this better and show us some photos in order to help you.
