Hello all! Joined the group earlier this month in anticipation of picking up our Shasta 16 SCS (1963). Against all good advice, we did buy sight unseen and pulled her over 600 miles to get her home after putting new tires on her original rims and checking bearings. Someone was watching out for us ! We bought Annie from her second owner and she had been sitting in the same spot for over 15 years. There were a few surprises, mostly good (as far as we know). All of her outside lights came on when we plugged her into the truck. All of her original manuals and sales materials were inside (even a Good Sam Book from then!). One light fixture is broken but present. As far as I know her wings are missing, but I haven't had a chance to dig through all of the storage areas yet. An air conditioner was put on her roof (that we will remove), so there is some water damage there to fix along with the roof. She has some damage in her skin and one corner, and the wood on the door needs replaced. Her windows are all intact. She has an original awning that the original owners bought, and even the mattresses are original (not sure if this will be a good surprise or bad one yet!). I'm sure we will have tons of questions and we will be watching all of the videos we can find. So glad to have found this group!!!

Any trip home with a new camper that goes that smoothly is a blessing.
Enjoy your new camper.

Nice SCS, they have a great layout. It's always a good sign when lights light up....!
They seem like they only pop up just every so often, and have been a bit "rare"...I hate to use that word around here, we all know what the catch-word implies. But, since you already have it, I don't think it will hurt in this context.
If I am not being too nosy, where did you buy it from? I did one of those long-distance trips when I go the 16SC last year.
I do hope you will turn up the wings in amongst the storage, but in case you don't, a word of warning...do your research before you purchase, the rear-oriented door on the SCS made the area for mounting smaller and shortens the wings from the most standard sizes. (I think they were 25-inch.) Of course the best bet would be to get new ones from Tyler anyway....he already did all the research.

Nice trailer! Looks to be in pretty good shape considering what most of them look like. Love the little treasures you get with the trailer. We have a thread about that somewhere around here.

Very COOL! Looks in great shape to start out with, and the treasures are pretty cool, especially the HAMMOCK! Even the air pump for the water.
The reason I had asked where it came from earlier, there had been a pair of wings that would have fit it on eBay back then. I just wondered if they had maybe been stripped to make a couple extra bucks on top of selling. But they were from a different part of the country.
Very nice score. You are going to have a blast.

I know that this is any old thread, but I am interested if there has been any progress. Pics ?
Also. My trailer is a 62 and is the same color... but I thought It was yellow underneath.. but the yellow extended up into the white. SO, i was wondering if your's was the same, I thought it might look that way. Maybe it's the primer?
Just trying to decide if mine is a repaint.. but it looks very much the same color as yours.
