Opinions on this one? She says everything works. Bought in May. She will send more pictures in a little while. This one is bigger than the others. I have a Chevy Traverse that I'll be towing with. She says it's 22' with the tongue. carbondale.craigslist.org/rvs/5231316520.html

It looks fine based on the pictures. Probably a bit spendy for a 1973? But, I don't know the market for 1970's trailers. I would ask for interior pictures around the AC unit and the front and rear corners. Is it mechanically sound inside and out? It's been decorated…

Here is a thread to the NADA Guide for 1973 Yellowstone Trailers. Note the 21' 8" models weigh 3800 pounds or a bit more, depending on which model it is. The tandem axel should distribute weight well and make for a better tow than a 3800 pound single axel trailer would. IMHO a pull down bunk bed by 1973 is not unique. The asking price is above the Guide listing too. I like the shape. www.nadaguides.com/RVs/1973/Yellowstone/Travel-Trailers-5th-Wheels

I think the photos look good but there aren't many of them to judge clearly.
My new favorite question to ask usually gets good results: "Please show me photos of any areas with water stains of any size. I'm coming a long way and I may as well see any issues up front. I'm sure you understand."
This puts them in a tough spot. Most people will lie by omission but if they know you will look for water stains/ damage there is little point in keeping it from you.
Never asks questions that can be answered yes or no. I learned that the hard way.
Wrong: Is it towable. Right: How far did you tow it last and when was that?
Wrong: Is there any water damage? Right: Show me where the water stains are in the camper All of them, please. With photos. Thanks!
(If you ask the first way they will say "No." and then say they didn't know stains equaled damage.)
Wrong: Do the bearings need repacked? Right: When did you last pack the bearings?
Wrong: Do you have a title? Right: What year and make is on the title? (You don't want to get there and find the title says "homebuilt 2014" or "salvage" something like that. Not if you can avoid it.)
And from my experience it's best asking if an overpriced camper is negotiable before arriving. Once you're there, after a long road-trip, they know they don't have to be negotiable. Of course, if the price is fair and you're willing to pay close to it, asking if it's negotiable through email may be a deal killer. Or just rude.
I hope this helps.

That is some Jedi mindtricking going on in the way you have your questions phrased, well done! I think that is extremely important to phrase and use terminology correctly, especially with evasive people. Anyway, I agree the asking price is at least 1500 too high, even with no water damage whatsoever...it's too big and too new for those figures...and the interior decorating does not merit additional cost, though it's not horrible. I personally dislike the shape and think you could do better since at that price, you won't have much left in your budget for anything but registration, and 4!!!! New tires!

I think it's really cute ~ HOWEVER ~ don't let the cuteness factor get in the way of everyone's really awesome advice, especially nccamper's jedi mind trick questions. :-D
Does she have pictures of the corners? Does she have pictures of the toilet & shower area? That's just a red flag for me ~ if it's THAT CUTE, she shoukd be willing to show you pictures of every nook & cranny out of pride for a job well done or at least a "how cute is this" factor.
And the only thing heavier than the 70's campers are the oh so ponderous 80's trailers ~ at least all the ones we ever looked at. Seems like they just keep getting heavier & heavier, & you must consider your tow vehicle or be willing to purchase an appropriate one for anything over 15'.
it IS cute ~ but there is SO LITTLE info ~ bit of a red flag. It might not be, it may be that the owner is clueless about how to list & sell something, but if that's the case, they should be more than willing to send you tons of pics some other way.

I shld clarify that my comment about the decor shld be taken as a "watch out". Sarcasm doesn't translate as easily to the written word.

My camper is a similar shape. I thought the shape was really cool until I realized that the shape actually reduced the useable interior and made the rear bed not much wider than a twin. Also, some of the worst water damage to mine was at those back curves.
Mine is 17ft hitch to bumper. I'm not sure how big the Traverse is but my 17 ft is as much as I would ever want to pull with my 6 cylinder Silverado (with tow package and a tow/haul mode.) I can't even tell it's there behind my 5.4 liter F150.
