Opinions on this trailer? I've never heard of the name before. This is about 4 hours away from us. What kind of questions should I be asking the owner? We would go see it but I want to get as much information on it that I can before making the drive. Is it a good price? I have asked for more pictures as well. Are there certain pictures I should be asking for? bham.craigslist.org/rvs/5227715770.html

It looks a LOT better than the other trailer, I would ask for roof photos on the exterior and interior, undercarriage and floor pictures before proceeding. Find out what works and what doesn't and if there is an oven or closet etc. More pictures definitely and check out some of the threads on what to ask/look for/bring.
The interior does look straight, but paint hides a lot.

Looks like a newer fridge. I saw that. Is that a bad thing?

The newer fridge is electric only, so you must be plugged in to use it. IMNO, this trailer is sheer LIPSTICK. That being said, might be worth a look because of the price. If you find ANY water damage, rippled panels, soft floor, it is not worth messing with.
Unless, of course, you are like the rest of us and are looking for a PROJECT.

Where are you at again, boholady? I am going to have a 1967 kit companion up on the market soon, but i am in Idaho. I just brought it home tonight. I am going to reseal all the j rails, fiz some lights, re-key & reskin the hatch, fix a latch or two, paint her & sell her. She came to me with original papers, stickers, badges, even a key to the front door! And she is in absolutely AMAZING vintage condition. Her skins have a few dings, but we literally ran out the door to get her!.......ok, just a word of warning ~ this whole vintage trailer thing...it sort of gets in your blood, & bites yah good. It's ...dare i say... a touch addicting. Just run while you can..... :-D

To me, paint is a warning sign. Did they cover rot inside or damage outside? How would you know?
Here is my standard first email for a painted camper:
-- Hi,
Can you send me photos of the camper before you painted it? Inside. Outside. Any damage that was repaired.
Also, can you send me photos of the springs and hitch area?
When was the last time you towed it and how far?
--
If they tell you they have no photos before it was painted, walk away. If they send blurry photos, ask them for clear ones.
I am the King of Travel when it comes to seeing vintage campers. I fly for free because my wife works for an airline. Traveling to see a camper is a lot of work.

I'd be willing to drive to the one in Seguin. Only because I have family in LA and could justify the trip as a trip to see them. Also, I could pick them up to go with me. We dont mind having to do small repairs. We figured we would have to with our price range but we aren't up for any large projects.

Traveling to see a camper is a lot of work. Thank you! We went to see another trailer that was close by and they had definitely used paint to cover damage. Inside and out. I had no idea people did that but it was obvious that's what they had done. So paint makes me uneasy too. I have asked for more pictures. If he doesn't have any or won't send more, I'll be walking away with no regrets.

So, nccamper, do you think i should leave the interior unpainted for the one i want to sell, then? I could take pics to document the previous condition (which actually has nothing wrong with it), but it's that old sort of tan ash plywood stuff common to 60's trailers, & i think white looks fresh & pretty. Maybe that's a poor choice if i want to sell it though.

Here is the wiki info on Tin Can Tourists for Traveleze. I'm pretty sure more than 1 of our Members have a Traveleze. www.tincantourists.com/wiki/doku.php?id=traveleze#.VgQRpWd0xjoThe photos of a fresh interior paint job with no real additional glamping done leads me to believe there are moisture stains being covered up at least. Seller wants it gone so the $2500 should be negotiable. I think Traveleze made a few interesting shaped models, but this one is pretty standard in exterior appearance. Regarding the Austin Camper, and this is only my personal opinion. In the complete description not one word was mentioned about any frame repairs or any work done "under the skirts", so to speak. Couple that with all the "newer" additions, and I personally, am hard pressed to be able to visualize the interior as that of a vintage camper. The vintage charm has been painted over or updated. Some flippers are really frustrated beauticians and their wares reflect that. Go to the Memphis CL and click search surrounding areas and type vintage into the search box. Hit search and please consider the $1200 '50's Aljoa. It can be made to look properly vintage again, imho.
