I just got a whole bunch of supplies...but seriously, plastic putty spatulas??? That was a waste of money. I worked up there for 45 minutes and found many screw holes from previous vent retrofits and two framing pieces that were a little rotted. I removed them and will fabricate some new pieces tomorrow from some poplar so i can temporarily seal the hole until I can rip out the ceiling inside and check all the framing nearby, The silver cement up there around the vent areas is eeeeeevil! The aluminum underneath is like new though. I think once we get the roof sealed and the inside done, that the following fall or off season, we will just rip off that roof panel and replace it. But goal one is to seal things satisfactory for the upcoming rainy season.
I can't find a vent the right size yet, and the other vent is really close, so I am getting anxious.

Don't forget what I see at the bottom of every one of your posts;
"I was born to fix stuff"
Don't get anxious, don't get discouraged, get organized and do what you like to do. Remember, this is just a bunch of cool projects to roll up your sleeves to... like eating the elephant one bite at a time.
Gotta say, when I bought my Scotty I knew it was a disaster, but my 'want it' mind said "no problem". When I had taken it down to some stained flooring and crusty frame it was discouraging. Let it be a series of projects you take on one at a time and enjoy them like you would any of the other things you've fixed. Damn the torpedos...

Vent cover is ordered, Monday we may get rain, that leaves this weekend to seal, seal, seal! I need that acid for the Windows that Mobiltec uses.
I didn't get my grinding disc yet so I ripped out a side panel inside that was very crunchy and loose...not horrible behind there, but a few pieces can be replaced. The floor however is rotted from the edge to about a foot in from the corner, I will figure out replacement options later. Everything else looks fine. I used a flashlight and looked down from the top window behind the panel i left on and up from the window below and it's all good wood with a small amount of staining. The panel is very rigid and firm above that window.
I figured i would work inside during naps and later in the evening before dinner outside. Tomorrow the roof panel and upper side panel on the other side come off unless the whole panel from top to bottom needs to come down. That paneling is not fun to remove, it comes off in a million pieces!
