It was very cheap and without a title but it had parts I really need so I bought it, expecting very little. My sister lives on the way so I called the 650 mile trip to Alabama a "Family visit". I stopped at my sister's place going and coming. As it turns out, everything went my way. The camper is as solid as a rock. Floor perfect, framing solid, skin as good as one can hope for, windows all there and working, a gas fridge, etc, etc.
The last owners bought it from the original owners and tried removing two panels from the inside. The first owner sprayed foam in the vent to stop a leak. Usual stuff. I showed up at their farm and they offered me a place to work and even use of their air tools. They were really nice people. I repacked the bearings, swapped tires and fixed an issue with a wheel well the night I arrived. The next morning I did some blocking to be safe... ...peeled the skin in the back corner behind the wheel well and replaced a rotten piece of edge board, put on new chains, greased the hitch, ran new wires for the temp lights, etc. Six hours later I was on the road with a tornado (no kidding) right behind me as I ran from town. For 650 miles it towed perfectly. Wait...it gets better! The day after I came back I brought my bill of sale (notarized) down to DMV. I heard that NC will now issue a title for camper bought out of state in a no-title-required state. So I gave it a try...and it worked. Unbelievably easy. $42. Normally I stay with 1955-62 but I my wife likes this camper. So it's been saved from the parts department.

Wow! The Trailer Gods delivered on that one! Glad you ended up with this one. From the time I saw its ad on eBay I wanted it. Look at those floor tiles! I'm pretty sure that one is going to be an absolute beauty by the time it rolls out....especially with your wife pushing for it! Great score, again....

WTG nccamper! By following the auction and feeling, at least, the parts could be worth more than the whole camper, you ended up in a win win situation. Wonder how many people who read your post will be second guessing themselves. Sometimes you have to take a chance. Long trip but plenty worth it! I am pleased for you.

Cool NC, Cool! Nice catch, Dude. That's a cutie pie. I liked your picture of the blocking. Can you post a close up picture of it to show how and where you put in the screws and maybe some of the other places you blocked? I think it would be a great idea to post a how-to thread on blocking? Cheers. Rod
