wow, you tore it up! We just got our heap of a trailer home and it's probably going to share the same fate as yours... my first look around revealed leaks....I got the same promise by the PO, no leaks.... I'd like to know if there exists an original trailer that has no leaks???
Have fun, it will feel so good when it's finished!

Campers in general are associated with one of the most wholesome family activities still practiced in American and yes even Canadian society today. In the era of changing morals and the desire to shock and not conform, as well as the breakdown of the nuclear family, camping has never, to my knowledge been tainted by scandal or major nation wide publicity. It is the last quintessential American pastime maybe along with fishing. These campers represent the best of camping times, when friends and family enjoyed them and entertained themselves while camping WITH them. The new generation of campers are expected to entertain the owners and make camping effortless...effortless and forgettable. No million dollar plus RV can take my breath away like a beautifully restored canned ham or smaller pre-canned ham camper, OK, OK, and even some next gen campers . The reasonable (vs. restoring a classic car) money and MANY hours invested in bringing a vintage camper back from the abyss of extinction is a labor of love, because once invested is GUARANTEED to deliver more than equal wholesome enjoyment for possibly decades to come for you and your offspring. I was smitten by the vintage camper culture approximately a nanosecond after I "discovered" it. Other than those thoughts, I don't have a clue why anyone likes these old campers, let alone would want to spend many hours fixing them.

It's a beautiful little trailer SCgal! Congrats on tearing the butt off and fixing it right..
NO LEAKS=it most likely does. If it has goop on the roof, for sure it does. Lots of caulk, yup, it leaks.
Personally, I would document the leaks and rot and take it back to the dealer. And/OR post it online as a sale gone bad. Seriously, this is a DEALERSHIP. Integrity should matter; perhaps an adjusted price is in order...
