I think that counter is awesome! Do you have a dinette? I didn't realise they made this iconic style so late into the 70s! How neat. Funny wheels!
Congrats and Welcome!
love old cars, old houses, old furniture, old people and of course, old trailers.

You are in the right spot. Everyone here can relate to losing any sensibility or objectivity at some point in their life, and if anyone says different, they are lying to you. That is an amazing find, and if any challenges should arise, we are all here to collectively help.

Thanks everyone so much for your kind and welcoming words. In response to one post, yes, it does have a dinette in the front with the 2 bench seats. It is so nice having you folks out there in cyberland for support....haven't even been online much since Monday since we found some rot in the back, rear curbside corner and with all of your invaluable information, videos and online help from another Forester owner, we took the skin off the back and will be replacing the frame work, paneling, insulation, etc etc. Gosh, it is downright scary though and hubby is so hoping that all will go back together nicely. For now, rainy weather has moved in and hubby is back to work but setting our sights to continue with the work next week on his vacation.......it is kind of scary for us but as others have said......it is downright fun too.

It is refreshing to see that even in 1971 that Forester knew that the canned ham shape would still sell.. I have always thought the trade-off for more uniform headroom from front to back, was not worth the abandonment of the canned ham shape. There is an obvious visual void, between the canned ham and next gen shape, of course I still think really cool cars MUST have VERY LARGE FINS and tons of chrome. So what do I know?
