I just got home from my first real road trip (further than 10 miles) without any trouble. I traveled from SE to NW Michigan and back and she pulled great(500 miles round trip). My sister and brother-in-law followed me. My sister said she wanted to follow,"just in case things start falling off or popping open." By the end of the trip, she said the camper looked really solid, no sway or wierdness of any kind, and that I could probably go faster than my 60 mile/per hour limit. It poured rain on Friday and Saturday, but I remained cozy and dry. Yeah!!! On the way up, I turned into a gas station as a new retro Shasta turned in from the opposite direction. The Shasta did look pretty good, but not worth $10,000 more than mine, (just my opinion of course) but I'm thinkin I might need a fancier paint job. Any suggestions?

Yep.... "Fancy" vs comfortable and solid? Leave it alone and enjoy! That's an awesome-looking rig, so at home on the gravel amongst the trees... Nice job!

Cheri, your trailer is beautiful and twice as sound as a *new* Shasta... Enjoy, I agree with Ten.

Looking good on the road! Your trunk make it look like it has a tail. Glad you had a successful trip. And you're so much classier than the new ones!

Congrats on the successful outing, the trailer looks well set up for towing. It looks really good period. No propane?

Thanks for the nice comments. I bought this trailer because I thought the shape was kind of cool, but during the rebuild I noticed that the shape actually takes away space. The back bed would be a full bed if the roof went all the way back. She did have propane, but the light was gone and the fridge didn't work. I was afraid to even try the stove or furnace. I do have propane tanks , but the rack is off, as I just painted it and didn't get it back on before the trip. My philosophy is "do no harm" so the stove, and black water tank are stored in the barn in case I decide to put them back in. For now, the air conditioner, luggable loo and more closet space meet my needs better. I have a propane stove/grill for outside and an electric induction burner for inside. I'm not a boon-docker, so I have a toaster, multi-cooker and electric coffee maker too. I did stop short of a microwave. but came really close.

How you survive without a microwave?

Surviving without a microwave-- easy. Surviving the complaining of my camping companions who can't survive without one--almost impossible.
