It is always fun to have options. Thanks for the tip and thread. I was a bit amused when I saw the awning you mentioned only had a 1 star customer rating. Then I read the review. Customer ordered two awnings. They were shipped separately and were the wrong color so they were sent back. No mention of inferior quality, just a flub in the order.

One other review said the actual awning was a bit nicer than the photo, and had an extra narrow pinstripe between the wider ones making the awning look classier. I will just mention that if you buy this, you need to sew the front edge on, and turn the back edge over a piece of nylon rope, which will become the edge that slips into the channel on the trailer. The rope is tied to an eyket on each side of the awning. If you don't have a channel or eyelet, you need to instal one, although they are not expensive themselves.

Yeah thats what we did.. $60.00 and free shipping.. www.ebay.com/itm/Aleko-Awning-Fabric-Replacement- We got a 10x12 and cut it down to 10x10. It already has an adequate sleeve for my coax line, which is what we run through the trailer rail. We did not add the scalloped edge to it. Ours being a later model, its not much of a show pony, we decided to leave that part off. I like the nice fancy ones though. We might add the edge later because we have the extra material. I'm still using old steel poles and string from a 84' "Blue Kmart Camping Canopy" Remember those? Plus Our "Grape" party lights show better on the exposed edge. This stuff is really workable. A heavy Denim needle and will punch this stuff 4 fold with a decent machine. I reinforced the grommet area with some medium plastics cut from a office binder cover.. This is the color "Sand", It matched or Restoleum Almond perfect. It's working well. This pic was from our Newbern NC. Gathering.. Nice grounds

Great find and thanks so much for posting this up. I was thinking about making one. In fact sis did make on a few years back out of sail cloth and the material was way mor than this price with shipping. Im building a unique off road camping trailer and already have the roll up mechanism so dictates a 8" wide by what ever length. I think I can just buy a 10'er and cut it down and throw a hem in it and everything in my life will be wonderful!!!!! Thanks again.

I wanted to add to this thread with the awning I purchased through Amazon that LadyW posted. Thank you so much for that post LadyW. We love our awning. It is a great material and the water just rolls off of it and it packs up very nicely. I spent around $50 on it. What a deal.
Here is a pic. I raised the middle pole that morning due to a major rainstorm we got earlier that morning. This thing is the bomb.

That looks great and matched your camper perfect. I am curious what you had to do it it to make it ready for use. Did you add grommets for the poles? and sew on cord to fit the track? anything else im not thinking of?

It's in the original photo at the beginning of the thread.

Since the scallop was designed for the extra metal piece on the retractable awning, we couldn't figure out a way to attach it to the awning and get it to "hang down". Even my co-worker who is an experienced seamstress found it would be difficult and since we were ok without having it on, we skipped it (at least for now). Yes, the feed rope that came with was sewn into the fabric and it works so slick with the "C" Channel we installed. We also bought a grommet kit from Amazon and it was very easy to use to add the three grommets.

Thank you for this thread! I thought I'd be without an awning for a few years but now I'm rethinking that

I am so glad this thread was resurrected!! I get to have an awning without paying an arm and a leg! I checked both the Amazon link and the ebay one, they have several options and I think I found the one I'll be getting.
