I'm going to request a quote from Interstate Metal for new skin. My current skin has a vertical seam the entire height of one side, and I'd prefer to avoid duplicating that if I can. Is there any reason I shouldn't request 16' long skin instead 2 smaller pieces? I can imagine that 16' of aluminum is harder to handle than shorter pieces, but assuming I have at least 2 helpers, is there any other thing I should think about?

Nice pics! Did you use foam core insulation and then lay the double-sided silver bubble-wrap stuff over the top of that?

Kimber, the foam is in the walls, which were 1 1/2". The ceiling, front and rear are only 3/4", so Reflectix was used in those areas. Many trailers are built that way, very thin over the top. (3/4" foam isn't available here)
I'm currently working on a Red Dale with 1 1/2 in the ceiling, very nice and easy to insulate.

Gosh, I guess my Oasis is a luxury when it comes to insulation and framing. 1 1/2" all the way around, and almost 4" on top. We camp a lot in winter, so we're insulating the heck out of it. 4" fiberglass on top, pieces of 1 1/2" foam in between all of the wall framing, and then a layer of Reflectix (thanks for the term!) over the foam on top of the framing, which we're thinking will be a little bit of a moisture barrier too. We're not wrapping the Reflectix around the corners though, so there's no vapor barrier where the trailer is most likely to leak. Would you suggest I add house wrap on top of the Reflectix, all the way around? Or would that be too much? I know we need to keep ventilation in mind, and I'm not sure where to draw the line.

Be careful about adding too many insulation layers or your skin will not fit. I had the Reflectix all the way to the roof edges on the Cardinal and had to cut it back to allow the new roof metal to settle correctly.
IF you're concerned about a vapor barrier, the shiny silver tape works well. Try to find some that STICKS really well. I've bought off brands that wouldn't. Reflectix has a tape, or at least did a while back.
Never have used Tyvek. Surely others have and will chime in...
