I've replaced some of the framing that needs to be done and I'm about ready to move to the next phase. When it's time to install gimp, where is a good place to buy it? It's not something I have ever seen before, but then again I've never been in the market for it before.

Search for Welt or welting if you are looking for the rope like stuff.

If you want a custom color, you can buy the plain rubber automotive welt without the cover, and wrap and sew your own vinyl or fabric around it. Upholstory suppliers also sell it in many colours for auto roofs..

Gimp

I purchased the gimp for my trailer at Affordable RVing (http://www.affordablerving.com). They sell the surplus parts from the new RV manufacturers, so most of their stuff isn't vintage. They have huge rolls of gim, corner welt and other similar trim for much cheaper. I know they will ship and they are very nice people. If you call them I'm sure they would send you a picture or two.
This craigslist ad give you an idea of what they have:http://eugene.craigslist.org/rvd/5025852967.html
