I have watched Mobiltecs videos on roof installation a few times. They are wonderful!!. Am I missing the part were the vent and windows are cut out? That is done after the roof is all finished Right? If I remember right a router is used. Also Should I use the flat webbing as suggested or can I just use rope? I,m worried the rope will roll to much. I spent too much on the roof to be cheap now and not buy the correct stuff Thanks

You do not need a router to cut out the window and vent openings, a decent pair of tin snips will work just fine and are also more forgiving. You are correct, this is done after the roof metal is securely fastened. From inside the trailer, pre-drill a 3/8" or so hole in a corner of the opening and cut it from the outside. Press the metal tight to the framing as you cut so you don't wander outside the opening. You will find that the tubular webbing Larry recommends is much easier to work with than rope for the very reason you mention. You can also order custom width and length ratchet straps here: www.strapworks.com/default.aspThere will be many other uses for the webbing after your trailer is finished.

A Multimaster makes quick work of the openings. This is the Cardinal back window, same work method: Also be sure to use a support when on the roof. A 8 x 2 piece of ply works pretty well.
