Hi all! First post for me and my wife, but we have been lurking for about a month. A couple weeks ago, we acquired "Buttercup", our 1963 Shasta Airflyte (yellow). I bought her as a 25th anniversary present for my wife. We had been looking with Search Tempest for a month or so at everything posted, and were convinced we would have to travel far and wide to get a vintage Shasta, and even then we would probably have to settle for one in "restorable" condition. Well, the good Lord sent the perfect trailer our way via Craigslist! I saw the ad less than a half hour after it was posted, and was the first to get there. The Shasta was in great original shape, albeit with some signs of past water damage (as most have). Nice paint job (from 2007), and all-original interior (magazine rack, gas lamp, ironing board, piping at corners of ash panels, etc.) Only things non-original are the stove, fridge, sink faucet. In any case, she is happily situated in her new home. We have been working on some safety and security basics: new tires (not ordered quite yet), fixed trailer wiring (problem was on tow vehicle), bug bomb, washing interior fabrics, new hitch lock, etc. Bottom line: my wife was 100% surprised and delighted when I brought Buttercup home. We look forward to having many adventures in Buttercup, and to taking the grandkids along with us. We are delighted to have found a site where other people "get" the whole vintage thing...we love it too! Holy Moly she is beautiful! It looks like someone took some care with her, on a lot of levels. Did you do the ice pick test Mobiltech suggests? The rot can be so scary. I think from what your pics show, she is super beautiful. I hope you have an easy quest to get a few things wrapped up, and enjoy many many years and memories. Welcome! There is such a wealth of info on here (not from me, others haha)
Buttercup is a perfect name.

Some husbands give their wives jewelry for 25 years, but you did way better than that, you got her a true GEM!!! Congrats both on the years together and the addition to your family!

Thanks all! She is delighted about her Buttercup.
Made some progress today... Bought a 12ga extension cord and plugged her in, in the backyard. All three electric interior lights work, fridge works, A/C works. A/C has me puzzled...cant see any evidence of a drain plug underneath. Hmmm, surely NOBODY would neglect that critical installation point?
Also, washed the queen futon cover and reinstalled, took all curtains down for a good washing, and the wifey went wild at Target: - Old-style webbed lawn chairs - String lights (for the awning) - LED lanterns - etc
Now just gotta get some new tires on her before I can feel comfortable towing her to a campsite (the camper, not the wife. Well, actually both!) The DOT codes are from 2005.
Anyhow, thanks for the nice welcome!

Nice looking trailer and great colour scheme. Would that be original for the trailer?
