One of my viewers picked this trailer up off the ground, put some wheels and tires on it and brought it home to restore. He got the wall paneling out and started on the metal skin when this happened. This could have happened on the road. This is why you need to take an ICE PICK with you when you look at a trailer and why you should never buy one sight unseen.
I suppose the add could have read, "All gutted and ready for you to restore".....
But he has decided to push on and do a frame up restoral on it. The last photo shows his progress so far...
Good going Glen!
Where he found the trailer...
Once he tore into it this happened...
Now it's a frame up restoral...

schweetcruisers ... "That'll buff right on out.... a weekend or two an a little silicone, and good as new!" Also, congrats to Glen on this find and on being strong-willed enough to want to follow it through. This is a genuine challenge, but a great one.

Several years ago, ours collapsed as we tried to tow it to a place to help us with the rebuild...but look at those new tires we have! Very excited to see your progress. It is worth it!

That's a small Leisure Home I believe. Could be as early as a '56.

Those photos are grim. On Monday I'm going to look at a camper 1600 miles away. The owners says he tows it around and "it's very solid". Translation... I'm sure wood supports are needed everywhere! Mobiltec reminded me recently to bring blocks. I found this photo posted by Soup. Any other framing support suggestion pop to mind? Photos to share? Now would be the time for me to see them.

That's a small Leisure Home I believe. Could be as early as a '56. I'm certain it's a Leisurehome. That framing in the back curves and in the little ledge at the front looks VERY familiar!

Hmm. Soup! Where are you? We miss your wisdom, your wit, and especially your dogs!

Yes we need to find Soup and get him fired from his new job because now he doesn't have time to talk to us. You would think that eating and paying his bills is more important to him than we are. I miss him, his pictures, advice, dogs, and humor.
