My certainly pulls some air but it is noisy! How about yours? Are you saying that just the sound of the air is loud or is your motor making noise that it shouldn't? It's probably a lot louder in that little trailer than in a larger one. Try turning it to the lowest setting. You shouldn't need more than that in that little trailer.

Yes, ours is loud, but I think of it as similar to a whole house attic fan. You don't run it all the time. If the camper has been closed up all day you can open up a couple of(lower)windows and blast the thing for a few minutes to change the air inside. I'm still not sure why they made it able to run in reverse though.

Since it's a DC motor, it was easy and cheap for the manufacturer to make it run in both directions. It will both "suck, and blow", whatever suits your needs.
Fantastic offers a resistor, that can be wired "in line" to reduce (all) the fan speeds, which will lower the air movement noise, and possibly save a Beehive Hairdo. I'm sure if someone knew the OHM resistance rating, they could pick the inexpensive resistor up at any Radio Shack store. Check out a Tear Drop Forum, they know all about slowing them down for their little trailers.

It has a little whine or hum to it besides just the sound of the air. And yes, John, slowing the fan down was a topic of discussion on the teardrop forum I belong to. It will suck your brains out in a teardrop even on the lowest setting. I have not replaced the vent in my TD with FF.

Call or email Fan-tastic Vent and ask them. They have great customer service every time. Mine don't HUM but do make fan noise...

I will probably just live with it. Other than the hum, it works great. I don't know what I expected it to sound like but it scared the beejeezus out of me when I turned it on, lol. Might have been a little surprised that it actually worked the first time I tried it, too.
