In addition to the chassis number we also have a separate Rainbow VIN stamped on the tongue that is used by the DMV.
I'm wondering about the Kenskill/Rainbow connection since there was a faded sticker on the front of the old skin that has to be from Kenskill. I'll post a pic soon. I'm thinking the original owner might have been in the Kenskill club.

We picked the stove parts up from the chrome shop today. Now that’s my type of bling! Before: After: I elected not to have the drip pan finished to a high sheen/flat surface to save some $$. But I’m happy with the look.

Since this is a Rainbow, I'm thinking Kenskill club member... Other ideas?

There's a Kenskill Club? LOL... Are you sure that says Kenskill? Doesn't look like it to me. You don't have a close up do you?

The black small K with the larger K outline and the circle around it looks like part of the Kenskill logo to me. But I agree, It's not totally clear. I'll take a better photo from the skin. Apparently in the 1950's there was a Kenskill club: www.tincantourists.com/wiki/doku.php?id=kenskill#.VeEOHUvAq0A"History Originally located at 126 W. Alameda, Burbank, CA, Kenskill Corp moved to 11321 Goss Street, Sun Valley, Califorina. Kenskill. formed in 1955, had one of the larger “clubs” after Wally Bynum's Airstream clubs. Kenskill Caravans had many members and they traveled to sites throughout the Western US. At one time there were over 200 member with 90% being Kenskill owners. Other brands were allowed at the start of the club. Club members had a habit of wearing the same kind of clothes during a caravan, some were on the ugly side of things. Remember this was the era of his and her bowling shirts." His and hers bowling shirts??

Making new bottom edge trim. Our trailer was originally finished on the bottom edge with painted aluminum trim. The trim was attached with 2” nails and was destroyed during removal. So we needed to find/make something to replace it. We could have ordered the new siding with the auto roll or left the siding long and hammered it under, but we decided to but it back together using trim. To make the trim for the wheel wells required… a new tool, from Harbor Freight. Trim for the driver side: Picture below includes a piece of the original trim (with nails), wheel well trim before sanding and wheel well trim after sanding. Tool marks before and after sanding: Next up, we're putting the stove back together and installing the new J-rail.

Is that a shrinker stretcher tool? Yep just looked it up. I've seen the shrinker stretcher tools but not the stand. Does the stand make it a lot easier to handle?

When Bruce first bought the heads he thought, I don't need the stand. The guy at HF said, you'll be back. Sure enough. The stand allows you to hold the piece with two hands which is important when bending a longer piece of metal. An added benefit is that the stand has peddles that allow the jaws to release quicker.

I've never seen one of these used. I'd love to see it in action. We talked about these a long time ago, maybe on the other board for use on pre-bending the fold over for the front top and rear skins. Someone had still photos of their experience but it just isn't the same as it would be with motion. I have no idea how these work.

Now it all makes sense. Including the hand brake that I want it looks like my next trip to HF is going to be a doozy... Close to $600 LOL... TOYS! That's what they are...

Bottom edge trim installed. The picture also shows that we stapled around the window openings as recommended prior to paint and used gutter seal to fill in the cut outs made during the roof installation. It feels like we might even send the trailer off for painting this week. Who knows? It's best not to get ones hopes up, seems like something could go wrong with J-rail to derail that plan.

The J rail isn't all that hard with a few tips. Are you planning on using a 16 footer on the street side? That's the hardest to deal with. 8 footers are much easier for obvious reasons.

I was distracted today by two volunteer jobs plus looking after the kids so the stove is still in pieces. But, Bruce was busy with the J-rail. When you have a hammer, all you see is nails. When you have a shrinker/stretcher all you see is curved metal. He still has a couple of sections of J-rail to finish but the challenging inner curves on the front are complete. It's a high 5 day!
