Hi everyone, I migrated from vstf and have only had my 62 Shasta for less than a year. I was one of "those" people that thought after I purchased my $700 beauty that "i can fix this" and "i can patch that". HA! So, 9 months later, a new Shasta is being born. She was broken down to the frame, and I saved everything original that I could, (fixtures, oven, toilet, tables, mag rack, handles, etc.) dumped the stuff that resembled toothpics, rat droppings and rot. Since my husband is a wildland firefighter and we have 3 kiddos, we have LOTS of free time to do this. (NOT) We decided to finally hire someone to help with the structural stuff. I get to do the fun finish work, like restoring the oven, toilet and turing it into a glamping machine! This is ironic, since I grew up tent camping and swore I would never "sell out" for a trailer......(um, yeah).
The Shasta's original owner was the cutest old man ever...he was a rodeo cowboy who passed away a few years ago. He toured the US with the Shasta during the rodeo circuit in the 60's and 70's.....oh if the walls could talk! I found an old rope and an old button in the cabinet (the button under the bed...hmmmm). So, I am honoring him by doing a "retro" cowgirl theme.
I live on the Central Coast in California and there are so many unbelieveable places to camp here, I cannot wait to get Ginger up and towing!

I love this! Didn't realize Ginger had such a history. Gilda and Ginger need to meet someday, maybe if this Kansas rally materializes in 2014??
