We're at the point now where a lot of new wood paneling has been installed, along with some partial re-skining of existing furnishings. It's predominantly new wood all around, except for the galley cabinets and closet face. Also many existing cabinet and drawer fronts are being used. The new wood has not been stained, but has been finished with a water based, oil modified urethane and so it's taken on a fairly warm tone, but lighter than the existing amber lacquered wood.
Question: Have any of you had experience with using Minwax Polyshades to tint a urethane finish to match the existing value and color of an existing amber lacquered wood ? According to the manufacturer that's exactly one of its primary uses. Just want to check in with the experience bank here to see if it's truly effective for this... in practice. Thanks!
