A week ago a friend sent me a pic of a trailer for sale here locally. I'm getting ready for my sons graduation open house so a project is the last thing I need right now. However, the price was right and I absolutely love the look of this thing so it followed me home. <a href="http://s163.photobucket.com/user/nowaxn5/media/photo%201_zpsmdv5llad.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t301/nowaxn5/photo%201_zpsmdv5llad.jpg" border="0" alt="Star trailer photo photo 1_zpsmdv5llad.jpg"/></a>
It needs a lot of work. The structure, floor and walls will all have to be replaced but it did come with appliances that are in great condition. The skin has actually survived very well and still really straight.
My problem now is I can't find any info on it. "Trailerama" has a pic of the emblem and an old dealer advertisement but that is literally the only thing I've found so far. If anybody has any input on a year of the trailer or maybe how the correct layout should be, I would really appreciate it if they would share.
thanks,
Jerry

In 1948 and 1949 there were a number of trailer manufacturers that were making double porthole doored campers of a shape similar to yours. Here is a brochure from Trotwood, which was a pretty prolific camper maker by 1949. You might have a Trotwood. It is interesting to note that it says any of the models come in aluminum or Masonite. s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/a8/72/66/a8726630040d8e2d57fee8ab993ef972.jpg

Duh on me! I did not know Trailerama was a 192 page book of interesting vintage trailer stuff! Cool that your camper was in it, or at least an emblem like what is on yours. Now we are really anxious to see a pic of the emblem. Sometimes the VIN# is a hint about the camper. I agree with vikx, I like your camper, and I think it will be very nice when you are finished.
