I primed the camper today and paint will go on in the next day or two...weather permitting. Wings and hubcaps are next. Alright nccamper, we all know you have been agonizing over your painting, well maybe agonizing isn't the best word, nonetheless, a full write up with pictures, lots of pictures, will be expected from you. Good luck with the painting. "Agonizing" about covers it. The weather was beautiful, I sprayed two thin coats of primer and one coat of the white above the stripe...then things turned. Thunderstorms are now in the forecast every single day, three times a day, with humidity high. The tape on the Z is staying on for a week, like it or not. Agonizing...yes.

nccamper I left my z-stripe tape on for months and it was difficult but not impossible to remove. I don't regret it because it had to stay there until the top and bottom was finished. For one thing, that tape is ridiculously expensive now! And it would have been impossible to put back in the same spot. I've dealt with same weather issues with the painting. I even had some water marks after I thought it had cured. Fortunately, they buffed out nicely with some polishing compound. Wish I had thought of that in the beginning because I actually repainted one side the first time it had water marks.

SusieQ, thanks for the words of support. I had visions of all the paint coming off with the tape.
The South without a garage is not ideal for painting...as you know all too well.
November-March-- too cold March through half of May--pollen everywhere May-June--rain issues July-September-- high temp reaching 100 degrees with high humidity Sept-Oct--more rain issues
Pick your poison.

Hi all, I recently had my baby moons sand blasted ($50) after trying everything myself. I then purchased Duplicolors Hyper Silver spray paint kit for wheels. After several applications of the paint and the clear coat the hubs did not look any different. I am wondering if it's because they were somewhat pitted. I am not sure what to do next. Should I just spend the money and have them powder coated. Is that even an option? I want them to be a shiny silver. I had thought about purchasing a set from Mike's but mine are of such heavy duty quality that I opted to try to restore them. Help!
