Just checking if I have to use high heat paint for this.. would prefer to not so i can get to use the colour I want... could I then spray it with a clear high heat paint??? Would love some feedback. thanks.

I'm wondering about the same thing. I'm not sure I will use the heater, but regular paint is not meant to take high heat. I sure wouldn't put Rusto, Ace or auto paint on a BBQ.
Maybe the vent doesn't get hotter than the hood of a car? I doubt it.
Let's see what people think.

We removed the propane furnace, as it is simply a burner inside a metal flue, and a small ceramic heater does a much better job of distribuiting heat anyway. I painted the furnace door the same color as the stove and refrigerator, painted the grilles hammered copper and put a hinge on it so now it is a door to a small pantry space. We store first aid kit, some foodstuffs and emergency supplies in that space.
