As some of you have read in my other thread "New guy here" I was given a 1974 shasta compact a couple of months ago. I made the 45 mile one way trip and picked her up last weekend. She is in decent shape but needs some TLC. I was concerned about towing because I think the tires are original. And as suggested by other forum members I will probably make sure it is road worthy and take my wife camping a couple of times this summer. She is so excited over this old camper. So the top priority is "New Tires", service the bearings, and repair the hacked up roof vent. I am sure it will need more but I think my wife would love to camp in it as soon as possible. I will have to post some pictures of it

Yes, get her road worthy and take out for a shakedown camp out. Not only will you be scoring big points with your wife, you will learn a lot about the trailer that will help when you start the renovations. Looking forward to the pics.
