Hello everybody! We've had "Misty" with us for two weeks and are making progress taking care of what she needs. Very dry, from UT, but in need of some plumbing and wood work....very minor stuff really. The worse is the rear window were, a 1959 Emerson AC (Weighing easy 65-70lbs), was bolted on. Looks like bottom window frame may have been altered to make it fit. Window opening measures 34X16"....don't know if any of you w a Deluxe can check your rear window for me? Maybe measurement of the awning window frame? Inside too? In our haste to find a window, we ordered a jalousie from an on line camper site. Thought it would work but, the actual outer frame of window measures the exact as opening. We thought about framing around opening, for now, until a proper window can be found. She's stored under a carport. I've emailed Chris "window guy" to see if he has the proper awning window.
Other than that, we've replaced the front side windows per "Mobiltec's" video (Thank you!), working on plumbing...brass lines w slight leaks...shower head leaking everywhere but, rusted on to fitting so...may have cut off at base and replace?...all the propane stuff worked right away, no leaks, with 25yr old propane!....toilet out cause bottom metal gasket? pretty rusted...The original Bargman electrical inlet is out and replaced w furion? 30A twist-inlet, wider by half inch, haven't altered opening yet. Would the Shasta mafia frown upon altering opening?
Still cleaning her up but, we are having fun bringing her back to life.
If Chris can't come up with a window, at least for now, would any of you have hesitations using the jalousie (It would entail adding 1 1/2" aluminum trim to bolt into added frame and trailer skin) to get her out camping? I'm talking a night or two every other month maybe?
Thank you for your attention and help...will try to post some pics as well! Thanks to tx_oil for sending us here!
