Hello, I would like to introduce myself to the forum. My name is Jeremy and with me is a 1959 Aljo 14' trailer, that I picked up last fall just before winter hit. I have never owned a trailer before, but from what I could tell the frame and springs look good and the previous owner installed new wheel bearings. The floor feels solid but the interior definitely needs a bit of work. It has been sitting covered since then and I have done minimal work to it so far, including some new upholstery and a new table. Spring is coming now and I would like to get it all ready for some camping. What do you guys think? Tips, ideas, advice, experiences? I have a bad picture that I took before storing the trailer away. Thanks

First and foremost, welcome to the forum Jeremy! Glad to have you on board. Please, pull up a log by the fire, a beverage of choice, and join in the conversations.
Great looking trailer buddy! Can't wait to see some more pics of it (we like pics). I'm not one of the local experts but I'm sure they'll chime in. If you bought the trailer un-restored then you'll probably have some work to do before it would be considered safe for use, particularly considering the year. If you see water damage on the interior (around roof vent, doors, windows, storage hatches, etc.) you'll probably need to remove some skins and facilitate some framework repairs. Skins, front and rear, kind of crunching down on the frame may be signs of the under skins frame failure which again, may need addressed. If any of the lights are not working or flickering (AC or DC), it may merely be a ground problem or sorry to say, necessitate some rewiring. If the roof has multiple layers of goop the previous owner claims was a roof "sealing" job, that may need attention as goop doesn't last and ultimately leaks. It's all good though as our good friend and site frequenter Mobiltec has a series of videos that walk you through the process to fix up anything vintage trailer related. Again, welcome to "the" vintage trailer site. RJ

A quick thought to everyone mobiltec's videos are of great help to us all and he makes them and put them out there for us for free. on his web page you will find a place to offer donations to help keep this valuable knowledge base available. Mobiltec is retired and living on a limited income anything that you felt like donating towards his expenses of making and supporting these videos would be of great help. You don't have to send anything in but if you do it may help to keep this valuable tool there for us. He has had some vision problems this year and could most certainly use our help as he went for several months that he wasn't allowed to even work part time we never hear him complain and he just keeps on assisting us as much as possible.
