Newbie here, both in the forum and with a vintage trailer. 3 months ago we bought a 1964 Holiday Trav'ler from our neighbor who has owned it for over 45 years! It was, and is, still hooked up. Lots of cleaning needed, but it is rather remarkable. Just yesterday I went down to her place - she is keeping it for us - and hooked up the lights and brakes. Everything worked except 2 teardrop lights in the front. Brakes work, wheels roll, stoplights work. We are so lucky!

Welcome to the forum scotty! How cool and rare to pick up a trailer that has been with one owner for the majority of it's life. Please post up some pics when you get a chance.

Welcome. It's great having a new member from NC.
You may not know it, but the odds of getting hit by lightning are lower than the odds of finding a camper like yours in NC.
Congratulation!

Well, thank you all. Here is a video of the camper being moved just a week ago...first time in over 20 years! www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmppLqj468wThe long-time owners were a single family of two brothers. Their wives are Rose and Betsy. We call the camper BETSTY-ROSE. This is back in the day... And this is today... The POs had it painted a tan. We will put it back to original colors/striping. All the running lights work, brakes too. The roof does not leak, although it had in the past and the POs repaired the leaks. Inside, it is quite a time capsule. There was some ugly mouse damage. I made new drawers for the sink cabinet, and we've cleaned, cleaned, cleaned. the dinette pic and the gaucho pic are "as bought"

Your camper is a real gem. They must have had it under cover most of its life. Excellent.

Yes it has been under cover most of its life. The POs purpose built a carport for it, it is still hooked up and running there as they are letting me keep it there until I build one for myself. You can see the carport in the video. While it is a lucky find, it isn't perfect by any means. Pics lie ya know! We had to get rid of mickey...and minnie! So far we rebuilt cabinets, re-insulated the wheel wells, re-made the curtains, restored the range/oven, re-plumbed the sink, cleaned and patched the upholstery and eliminated the mildew (spray with 70% solution of alcohol), cleaned and tuned the furnace, etc. But the structure appears solid, no leaks after the hose test, so it is a great foundation to begin with.
