I have wanted a variable speed router for some time now because it makes cutting metal skin so much easier on the bits. I love this one and will do a video or two of my using it for both wood and metal $74 at HF on sale.

It takes me months to clean up all the little aluminum shavings from the driveway when I use a router on the skin. Then I catch hell when I track them into the house. For me......it's much easier to just use my left and right hand aviation snips. One 1/8" hole drilled in each window corner, draw a line, and snip away. A couple of minutes per window.
I use my Mikita router every day, but only on wood.

Be interesting Larry! I haven't tried mine on metal because of the mess anticipated...
Still using the Multimaster on the cut outs with very good results.

Oh by the way, this router has a vacuum attachment to hook up a vacuum to. I may try that with the metal cutting.

I love it, but it is a little bulkier so still use hand snips in tight places.

Used my new router with the speed control on my ceiling vent. It works GREAT! Nice and clean and it didn't scratch the surface of the already shellac'd paneling. I'm loving it. Light weight too. Very nice indeed. Photos tomorrow.
