Got 3 sheets of 1/8" lauan plywood, 3 sheets of Ash veneer, and 1 gallon of hybond 80 contact adhesive to make my own 3/16" Ash plywood. While I was picking up the veneer I saw a truck from the cabinet shop that I worked at 25 years ago, when I was 20 years old. Brought back alot of good memories. Wjoe, I will be using the contact adhesive and roller method. Veneers cost $51.83 per sheet, lauan ply $14.24 per sheet and 1 gal. adhesive $30.00 all plus tax, that works out to $76.07 per sheet plus tax, labor and delivery. Glad I don't need more than 3 sheets. Veneer and adhesive were purcahsed at ESI(Edgebanding Services Inc) in SLC, Utah and the Lauan plywood at National Wood Products in SLC, Utah Here is a photo of the rear opened up, I will begin replacing framing on the street side rear next.

Well, I know its been a year since I posted an update but not much happened on the Shatsa from Feb 2015 until Jan 2016. I was slammed with work and fastpitch softball with my daughter. I did manage to work on it most of last week I got the new ash rear panel and framing replaced. Still need to finish the new curbing at the rear. I also scraped and belt sanded the old floor glue down to the plywood in preperation for the new VCT tile flooring. Next I will work on the front lower panel and framing replacement. I cannot for the life of me match the original finish on the ash plywood. I've tried many combinations of Shellac. Just going to have to live with it. Old rear Panel New rear panel

Best of luck on your project. Looks great. Since you have that roof off, you might want to consider installing a Fantastic Fan. Makes camping so comfortable. Also, if you haven't bought your new roof metal, try looking at a truck supply center. They sell aluminum by the foot (from a roll) that is something like 108 inches wide. I bought enough for my camper that cost only $120.

Looking good so far. I agree with the suggestion on the Fantastic Fan, we put one in the Lil Loafer and I love it. I plan to put one in the Okie too. If the budget won't allow it at least run the power and ground to the vent so it could be added in the future without having to fish wires in.

Glad to see you back on the project. My 59 Shasta has been on and off as well. I figured out a way to "match" the existing finish and am going to try it out when I get back on that project but I'm not 100% satisfied that it will work yet. If it doesn't work I'm going to sand down the entire trailer and go with Amber shellac.
