Have truly enjoyed all the helpful information you all have to offer. Thanks. I am doing a frame up rebuild on a 1964 Scotty Highlander or should I say a rolling piece of decayed mass with useable restoreable vintage original parts. Surprisingly the frame was in excellent shape the under coating really did its job. I have installed a new torsion axle, and rebuilt the all the floor, walls, and most of the interior. Reworked all of skin and have it installed ready for more sanding, bondo and paint. One thing I did was chop the top still giving room to stand but let me fit it into my work shop by moving the axle arms level and rolling on steel 14" rims. Maybe this is a no no in a true restoration but I took on this project to keep busy as I just retired and need something to do during the New England winter. gomesie

That's going to be a great trailer. Mine is about the same... Good origional parts... Lots of nasty rotten wood. Mine had some kind of bad Jrail that turned the wood into a sponge. A lot of work to restore, but when your done, you get to tell yourself it's solid

Hi! I added a pic to your post. It's the only one I could see from the link you posted. My internet is not cooperating tonight so there might be more that I just couldn't see. But you can add pics by copying the IMG link and pasting it in your post.

When I mentioned your helper I thought one of the pictures had a little one standing on the trailer floor. Maybe a grandchild "helping" Grandpa.

You are going to have a gorgeous trailer when you're done. Our only concern is that you picked this little gem up as a "winter project." The way you're going, you're going to need another couple trailers to restore before Spring rolls around... I checked the calendar, winter doesn't start until next week!

RJ , Hamlet and Nanat, Wood work and building things of wood is the easy part for me, things will slow way down when it comes to 110 AC, 12 DC , window restoration, lights, aluminum prep, spray painting, basicly things not made from wood or built with wood working tools. it's good to know you guys are out there to help.
