Greetings Folks. I'm home one month early from my trip to Colorado. I'm going to be posting photos of the work I did on the 59 Forester today. The work was completed in 17 uninterupted days. I only took one day off to move from one campground to another.
The trip was all work and no play. It started off with me losing the tread on one tire on the Dico utility trailer in the first 100 miles. I posted that photo on the other site and will post it here also. It reminds us all to constantly check our rigs while in travel. This could have been a complete disaster if I hadn't stopped for breakfast and checked the rig before leaving again. Always do a complete walk around before getting back on the road. You never know what you will find.
The rest of the trip to Steamboat Springs was pretty much uneventful intill I reached Grand Junction where I developed another little problem. The shifting tube which connects the shifter lever to the cable that actuates the transmission broke and I had to start the vehicle by getting my index finger up into the mechanism and holding the button that is usually depressed when in park. Also I had to keep my elbow on the brake and then I could start the Van. I didn't stop again until I reached Steamboat Springs where I imediately tore into the dash, dropped the steering column and replaced the tube. By 6pm I was in business again and made my way over to the VERY EXPENSIVE campsite. I wasn't ready for what it was about to cost me to stay in that tourist trap of a town. More on that later.

Mobiltec, Your photo montage almost makes it seem like you did it in a day...but we know that didn't happen lol. Nice job, Is he going to paint it?

The color scheme is going to be two parts with one being a beige color and one being white, separated by a silver stripe. Jim will keep me up to date on the progress.

That will be one fine trailer when they get it finished, you left them with a great base now if they do as well on the finish it will be beautiful.

Jim has let me know that the trailer is finished but he has yet to send me any photos. I'm going to bug him until he does.... The 54 Aljoa that I'm working on now is almost a duplicate job of this one. Matter of fact, it looks as though this Forester was a copy of the 54 Aljoa. Everything is almost exactly the same. Stay tuned.
