hey guys! new to the forum, i recently stumbled across a 1974 Shasta Class A motorhome, 24' Chevy chassis, overall very clean and very originial. Im by no means an Enthusiast but i do enjoy shasta trailers, i have a 74' 1400 camper of my own. But my question to you all is how rare is a shasta motor home? i was not aware they made them this early. does anyone have any information about them or a website that could help me out? The one i am looking at is available for sale and i would like to know more about them before i make the leap on bringing it home. This one in particular is rear bedroom, full bathroom, kitchenette, factory air and its all there... any information would help, production numbers, values, parts prices, etc. Thanks for your help i look forward to hearing from yall.
Shawn

Welcome Shawn47! The Shasta MH may be rare, not sure it is desirable or not. Motor Home owners would be able to give you more info. Good OL RVs is a forum that has many older motorhome restorations: goodoldrvs.ning.com/profiles/message/listInbox?page=1We are primarily a vintage trailer site, so can discuss the "camper" section if you get it. Do a search on your type of chassis (chevy, ford, etc). It should pop up several forums for drive train and engine info.

From what I can find, it looks like Shasta may have started making class A motorhomes on GMC/Chevy chassis and the first year I see mentioned is 1967. No pic available on the '67 but the '68 pictured can only be described as an ugly brute. "Motorhomes" have been around for about 100 years and to be honest, I don't see the same collectability in a Shasta Class A motorhome as in the trailers. Check out some Pinterest sites on motorhomes and I think you will find some way cool motorhomes grafted onto classic cars that would be much more desirable. I would suggest this thread might steer you towards more collectible motorhomes...they are out there.
