Noticed the propane line where it enters trailer through the floor behind cabinets. The putty, or whatever it is, used to seal the hose hole had come loose. Is this the proper way to seal this hole? Seems like there would be a better way that would stay put.

Many manufacturers used putty for the holes. Silicone works well, too. Yes, silicone-the ONLY use for that stuff in our trailers...

Funny thing...the plumbers' putty that I have seen from the wholesalers and in some of the "big-box" places is actually called "Sta-Put".
I would recommend checking the underside as well, at the entry point. These holes are great entryways for rodents. If there is a large enough opening or it is not filled, put some steel wool around the pipe in the hole and then seal it. The steel wool is definitely not mouse-friendly.

I like to take a square of 1x4 and drill a hole in it the size of the line then saw the board in half through the hole, next place it around the pipe then glue and screw it to the floor on the bottom side. Then fill it from the top makes it rodent and draft proof.
