Looks like you have a nice Aljo there. I like that a 1966 still has the smooth paneling and it can be brought back to a warm glow look. Nice size too to still include a bathroom.

Windows and access panel doors removed. The previous owner redid the bathroom but did not fix any of the rotten wood except for the bottom board. Front shelf has major wood rot. Many pieces of the side wood are still in good condition. My favorite helper. He loves working on the camper.

Thanks for sharing those pics. Lotsa rotsa. We like rot pics. Isn't it amazing what hides behind those skins? Fine helper you have there and cute kitty. Couldn't help but notice that nice license plate collection you have, too.
Welcome aboard and keep sharing!

Loved the picture story! Keep the original skin if you can. It's tougher than new. Yours appears to be in great condition.

Thank you for the positive comments. The outer skin looks a lot better in the photos than real life. I think after we have gone this far it will be hard to keep the old siding will all the dents and tears. It is disappointing to hear the reproduction is not as heavy but it is not surprising. We ordered the birch plywood from Meeks Lumber. They had 1/8 sheets for $25.00. We ordered 17 sheets, I hope that is enough. Kitchen counter and cabinets have been removed. I need to start looking for counter top material. The original is in good condition but there will be no back splash to match. You can see the old fuse box that was in the cabinet. I am not sure if we should put it back that way or update it. The stove is nice and the previous owner said it worked. The propane tanks were empty when I brought the camper home so I didn't check the stove. It probably would have been a good idea to get some propane and test the stove before it was removed. The previous owner had updated the bathroom with a new stool and plastic paneling glued to the interior walls but he didn't fix the rotten floor underneath. So now the bathroom is gone and a new floor patch has been installed.

Cast iron cleaned and seasoned. Both of these pans belonged to my grandmother. She and my grandfather were avid fishermen until her death in 1965. I bet they fried their fish in the cast iron pot.

We are currently working on removing the tile. We are down to the black tar paper. It is not coming up with the water/newspaper method.

Love your Granma's pot and pan! Lucky that you have them.
You might consider covering what's left of the floor with 3/16 ply underlayment. Much easier than trying to pick all the glue off..
Wonderful job on your trailer!

Thank you for the suggestion on the flooring. That may have been a good option but we are almost finished. The trailer barely fit into our garage, a very tight fit. Luckily my husband is a good backwards driver as Tow Mater would say! Here is the tile that I ordered. I picked the Sea Aqua. It should be in next week. I believe the total cost with the glue was $225.00.

What is the tile that you ordered? How is it installed? Will you keep the bathroom or change the layout?

I ordered VCT Flextile #117 Sea Aqua, 3 cartons at 52.00 each. Glue 1 gallon 35.00. They charged me 35.00 freight since this was a special order.
This installs like any commercial tile with VCT glue and a trial. I watched mobletec's video on it yesterday.
We are leaving the shower and bathroom where they originally were. My husband suggested taking out the shower but I kind of like it.
My floor tile has still not come in.
