Also be sure you get RV butyl PUTTY tape with the crinkly paper. Pure Butyl tape has slick brown paper and is decidedly harder to work with. It also oozes in hot weather. I do use it, but prefer the RV butyl putty tape.

I do use it, but prefer the RV butyl putty tape. Honestly, I still have the VTS roll I ordered. It is gray and has slick white paper. It says it 100% Butyl mastic: This pliable non-hardening 100% butyl mastic is a superior replacement for the original non-butyl putty tape used on vintage travel trailers. It is tacky and, unlike old fashioned putty tape, does not harden over time. Also, it is safe for contact with EPDM rubber roofs because it does not leach petroleum residue. The stuff I ordered from Amazon is gray with brown wax like paper. I have used it in 100 degree weather and 65 degree weather and I had no problem. It is a little stretchy but only if you pull on it. It says: Colormetrics Gray Putty Tape / Butyl Tape 1/8" x 3/4" x 30' Use for waterproofing RV's, trailers, boats etc Gives an excellent seal behind windows and doors Non-hardening with excellent sealing properties 1/8" x 3/4" x 30' per roll Color is Gray
