You could take it out and slap a mirror back up. No one would ever know....unless they looked at the inside of the door.

And I think they changed the side that the closet door is hinged on because of the trim on the refrigerator. What did yours have for a fridge/icebox and what do you have now? And do you have a gas lamp?

LOL...there I went again...while I was typing your answer shastajeff even provided pics...oh well this is my answer anyhoot... I'm pretty sure that none of the next gen Shastas had the boomerang pulls. When the birch/ash/walnut? interiors were discontinued it was time for a change in the interior hardware...think they went to kind of a thin pounded metal look to the pulls. Half of the original pulls are missing on my Airflyte, but I was lucky enough to be able to purchase a bunch of 1st Gen pulls, hinges, slider knobs and closer thingies in one lot from a very kind VSTF Member when we were all active there. My pulls are shaped just like Jeff's but silver, slick and shiny. Those are the pulls that they used on house cabinets in that era. I have a house with them in it, the house we moved into in 1962.

OK, the craigslist photos were pretty scary but she looks GREAT! I can't wait to see the transformation! Have you named her yet?

Susie...My gas lamp is mounted on the entrance door side cabinet...just to the left of the door. Also, there is a 12 volt ceiling light above the sink but it doesn't seem to work. A few other differences...mine has a hand pump faucet and a separate single handle faucet for city water...yours has a faucet with hot and cold handles...does that mean yours has a water heater and an electric pump? Also, I noticed that some of your paneling has the lines horizontally...on the entrance door side cabinet and along the rear. My paneling has the lines vertically throughout. I have an original icebox. At times I wish I had a fridge but want to keep it original. I freeze 4 one gallon milk jugs with water and they will last 3-4 days. Your Holiday stove has a shut off valve for the pilot lite...something I learned from a previous post. Lift the top of the stove and you will see it on the right side. My drawer pulls are the shiny hammered ones. The picture didn't show them as shiny. Your flooring looks to be original as I have the same flooring inside my lower cupboards. Actually, I've seen four different floor coverings...9x9 tile I think ...probably the asbestos type...the pebbley floor like yours...some 70' faux brick vinyl and the current floor which is a dark wood laminate.I'd like to rip it all up and redo it in either black and white checkerboard or original tile.I also noticed your inside access door to the storage area under the bench is on the right side...mine is in the center.

No sign of mine ever having the gas lamp. There is nail on the cabinet by the door with a battery light, the circle kind you push, "As Seen On TV." I took it down.. no hole for gas fitting. I did notice some of the later models had the gas lamp above the stove. My counter top was replaced and the modern faucet added and splash board was added from the same counter top material. It has new looking plumbing, pvc p-trap and a fresh water and hot water connection that goes to the closet but no water heater included. It does have a new porta potty, lol. And at one time must have had a flush toilet because there is a sewer connection in the side that has been sealed.
The paneling lines are vertical on the sides and horizontal in the front and back and on the cabinet by the door. My storage access is in the long bench across the back. The only access to the side wheel well storage space is the hinged top under the cushion. I have two closets, one that has the fridge and electrical and the medicine cabinet door. Then there is one next to it with another door and it has shelves.
One section of the ceiling still has white speckled vinyl on it. It must have been original? Not sure, but the welting between the cabinets and ceiling is still there. The exposed ceiling is stained plywood and that is the same thing that is in the bunk. The bunk is REALLY heavy!
My pebble looking floor is actually in very good condition but I don't like it, didn't like that stuff back in the 70's when it was used in houses, either. I remember my aunt's kitchen having that same floor. And yes, I do believe I found that pattern in the list of asbestos flooring. And anything with black mastic backing is asbestos, I discovered in my research.
Still haven't figured out the vent thing on the front curbside. I think it may be for the oven? I guess when I skin it, I'll find out.

No, other side by door in the front. I think Pirate is right. I think it goes to the stove. Mine looks like a little flue, a tin box looking vent.

Started to stick my hand up there to see, but it has two wasp nests in it. So, I'll get them out later and THEN look.

SusieQ On my current 1968 1500 the gas light was over the stove and there is a little vent behind it on the outside. Not sure why the vent.

Thanks, Bill. That's the only place that I might have had one, but there is no vent other than the one on the side. I'll find out when I look under the skins eventually.
