So, I'd seen this camper awhile back, sitting way out back in someone's field. I knew the owner, and kept thinking I'd stop by. Today, a friend who knew I was interested, texted me and said "they're moving the little camper closer to the road, might be for sale." So I drove out there (about 5 miles) on my lunch break, and stopped in. There she was, hooked up to an old Murray riding lawn tractor. The owner came out and I asked him if they were getting it ready to put up for sale. Unfortunately not, but they let me have a look around (I neglected to bring my cell phone in so I could take pictures). He said it was a 1964, but it looked much older, Metzendorf. The emblem was right by the door, identifying it as such. The interior wood all appeared to be original and in great shape. The interior was not painted, and still had the original icebox, the dinette appeared to be in great shape, and she showed me that the goucho bed still slid up and down with ease. I begged to buy it, but they weren't selling. I'm definitely keeping it on my radar!
